Cullen O'Gorman

Specialist Neurologist and Neurophysiologist
Dr O'Gorman completed his medical degree at the University of London in 2003, graduating proxime accesit to the University Medal, before training in neurology in Queensland at the Royal Brisbane, Princess Alexandra and Gold Coast Hospitals. He was then chosen for a prestigious ANZAN overseas training post, completing fellowships in advanced clinical neurology and clinical neurophysiology at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, developing expertise in techniques including single-fibre EMG and nerve and muscle ultrasound.
Clinical & Academic Roles
He is a senior staff specialist at the Mater Hospital Brisbane and the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he runs the neuromuscular and general botulinum toxin clinics. His research interests include the epidemiology of multiple sclerosis — the subject of his PhD at Griffith University under the mentorship of Professor Simon Broadley — as well as neuro-immunology and peripheral nerve and muscle disorders.

Dr O'Gorman was awarded the James G MacLeod Advanced Trainee Award at the 2012 ANZAN annual conference, and has also received awards from Griffith University, Queensland, for clinical research.
